I know it's strange that I'm writing the yearly update now. Honestly, there won't be much of a significant update unless something miraculous happens in the coming month. 2020 was looking way up this year. The novella Tiger-Man: Ascension releasing in mid-February with SDU Volume III: Magmantium War slated for a fall release, Halloween in particular. Things were going at a very smooth pace, and it was looking like it was going to be a very easy release season for the new novel, as I had worked out a pretty efficient system for things to be done. However, this is 2020, and clearly, anything can happen to anyone.
As soon as August started, as in, literally, August 1st, I had started having problems breathing. No, it wasn't what you think it might be. I went to the emergency room the next day since breathing had worsened, and I was diagnosed with pneumonia and put on antibiotics for ten days and was sent home. I was okay with taking a break from writing for a bit to recover, but then it got worse, and after 10 days, I went back to the ER, and I was admitted. I was stuck in the hospital for two weeks. So from August 2nd to the 28th, this book had been gathering dust. Then it sat for another two weeks because I had been in bed for so long that I had to get used to walking again and had to get accustomed to taking normal breaths again, etc. So, a few weeks turned to a month and some change. At the time of writing this, I had only resumed Magmantium War a couple of weeks ago, and the book is only on it's second of five drafts.
As for the announcement that I didn't want to make this year: I don't think we're going to make our October 31st deadline. The thing isn't even half-done on its drafts, the cover isn't done yet, and the back cover hasn't even been commissioned. This is because there's a new medical bill charged to me seemingly every week. So, I can't afford the back cover, nor could I afford to advertise the book even if it was done/near completion, so what's the point of working myself to death for a deadline that I can't even afford to make? There's no point. So, the new plan is to try and make it to December. If I can't get it out in December, I'm gonna push it back to February and take my time. I'm doing all I can to get it out this year, thanks for reading. If you haven't checked out the other novels and the novella yet, they're all on sale on Amazon, all links to the physical and digital copies are on my website which is linked where the websites are on their respective pages. Until next time, Stay Tuned for what will hopefully be more uplifting updates. Thanks -Josh
