Hey everyone, welcome to the SDU Update. It's not going to be a good one so I'm sorry for the bad vibes in advance. To start with the good news, the first huge battle of the story has advanced in drafts again, and the next commission is being diligently worked on. Thank god I paid for it in advance...and that's exactly what's wrong.
I sadly won't be able to commission the cover of the book when I wanted to because of unforeseen circumstances that happened to cost me a lot of money. I won't be able to get what little money I'm owed back for the first book, either, because what it'd take would end up costing me more than what I'd get from it.
Amazon isn't working out, either. I have gotten no help from them to push the book so all of the advertisements and promotions on social media have come out of my pocket. I've spent astronomically more than I've made off of the book and despite the number of followers (who I'm grateful for, don't get me wrong) I haven't been able to sell anywhere near 253 copies. Call it selfish if you want, but if you know how hard I've had to push Special Defense Unit all alone, you know I'm allowed to be frustrated. I didn't need to be humbled, I needed something to stick. I need help. To someone who's experienced, they'd probably look at me the same way someone would look at a blind man walking across a busy street by himself in a town he doesn't live in. But what am I supposed to do? I'm trying my best and nothing's coming out from it.
I'm not gonna quit on Fray, I'm too far along, spent too many months working on it. But it isn't looking good for us. Stay Tuned, I'll have another update soon.
