IT’S BACK! That’s right, the Draft Chart is back. In my crusade to be transparent, I like to share as much “behind the scenes” stuff as possible, as long as I’m not giving out spoilers. There isn’t much to report about Magmantium War this week. As you can see by the chart, I finished the new Story I, and I’m continuing Story III where I left off. That’s pretty much it at the moment.
Now, for what I really wanna talk about. I want you to take a look at how many short stories this book is composed of. That’s right, five! Where Unite! & Fray had eleven of them respectively. Even Tiger-Man had fifteen chapters. So, what gives? Why are there less than half the short stories in this book as the first two full novels? Well, simply because most of the set-up for Magmantium War was within the last three books. Currently, I estimate that Volume III is probably going to be slightly under or over 100-pages shorter than Volume I First Edition (which is 398-pages currently). But will Magmantium War’s shorter length harm the ending of this arc? No. I have carefully planned this finale. This book is almost purely pay-off, with some set-up for future books, which makes it okay to be shorter. You’ll still be getting a healthy dose of SDU action. The primary difference between Magmantium War and the other books is that Magmantium War does not have any short stories dedicated to one specific character in this book aside from Jon Speyer. So the team is together or in their groups almost throughout, this is why the book is so much shorter.
But that’s all for this week, you may have also noticed that the title for this is “SDU V3 UPDATE” and that’s because I’m going to have another update on Thursday for “Special Defense Unit Volume I: Unite! Second Edition!” or “SDU V1SE UPDATE” as it will be titled, and I’m also trying to be more active on my pages. So, until then, Stay Safe and Stay Tuned!
